Surrey Hills Wood Fair 2011
'Absolutely brilliant'
'My family didn't want to come and yet we were the first to arrive and one of the last to leave - such fun'
'Amazing chain saw sculptures'
'There's something for everyone - good family fun'
.............. just a few of the comments from visitors to the Surrey Hills Wood Fair at Birtley House on 8th and 9th October.

More than 2,000 people discovered the huge variety of things that wood is good for at the second Surrey Hills Wood Fair. The event celebrates Surrey’s number one natural resource - wood - featuring everything from biodiversity in Surrey’s magnificent woodland landscape to woodcraft, sculpture, and renewable carbon neutral energy.
Two magnificent Suffolk Punch heavy horses took families on cart rides through the fair while another Suffolk Punch demonstrated how horses are brilliant at extracting timber from tricky woodland. Chainsaw sculptures were popular, craft stands showed that ancient skills are still in use today and visitors interested in taking up the Government’s subsidy on renewable fuel found experts on hand to give advice.
Surrey Hills Wood Fair was definitely 'Fun for ALL the family'
